OPENING RECEPTION: Friday April 10, 2015 from 5-9 pm
When you look at art what do you see?
If the paintings, photos or sculptures are “realistic” it’s not too hard to choose your focus.
With semi abstract work you examine the art in a different way.
The works in “ABSTRACT REALITIES” display other means of engaging viewers; to show what we feel and present. We want to capture your attention!
We depict things untraditionally; representing color as light, building textural canvases, presenting symbolic and psychological themes along with iconic geometries and images for contemplation.
Five artists, five perspectives. Please come to the Opening Reception On Friday, April 10 and enjoy the show!
Sue’s works recombine the angles, intersections and fragmentation of urban Harbor scenes and Umbrellas; “hard” and “soft” structures at the water’s edge. Both create vignettes of complex beauty.
PT Sullivan’s art employs varied historical art references and technology to create bridges and interpretations between mediums and iconic images.
Anne’s practice is concerned with the alchemy of art; the process through which artistic intervention, and viewer perception, transform raw materials into entities with value and meaning.
